New Delhi: In an innovative move, the Delhi High Court Bar Association (DHCBA) has introduced QR code-enabled badge stickers for vehicles belonging to advocates registered with DHCBA. This initiative aims to address the growing issue of unauthorized use of advocate badges.

Traditionally, advocate stickers, issued by the Bar Councils, serve as a means of identification for practicing legal professionals, granting them certain privileges like designated parking at court premises. However, the misuse of these badges by unauthorized individuals prompted the DHCBA to adopt a more secure technology.
"The integration of QR codes into the advocate vehicle stickers will help in curbing the misuse of these badges. With a simple scan, police can verify the authenticity of the vehicles entering court premises," explained Mohit Mathur, President of DHCBA and a Senior Advocate.
Addressing potential privacy concerns related to the use of QR codes, DHCBA Executive Member, Advocate Nishant Anand, assured that privacy is maintained. "The QR code only links to a landline contact number for official use, ensuring no personal information is compromised," he stated.
The registration for the new QR code stickers will remain open until May 6. This measure is expected to enhance security and efficiency in the verification process of advocate vehicles.
