NEW DELHI: In a ground-breaking initiative, the Delhi High Court Bar Association (DHCBA) along with Live4Freedom LLP has initiated the ‘Fight for Justice Awards’ to honour the litigants behind landmark judgments of the Supreme Court.

Former Chief Justice of India N V Ramana will be the Chief Guest for the first Fight for Justice Awards.

The jury members, esteemed professionals with extensive experience and knowledge in the field, convened recently to discuss and deliberate on the selection of the award categories. The discussions revolved around identifying key areas of legal practice and litigation that deserved recognition for their contribution to justice, a press release stated.

The awardees have been decided by eminent jury members including Chairman of Armed Forces Tribunal Justice Rajendra Menon, former judge of Delhi High Court Justice Kailash Gambhir and former Delhi Police Commissioner B. K. Gupta.

The Award comprises diverse categories like criminal, environment, and lifetime achievement. The organizers stated that the nominees for the categories were shortlisted through a rigorous process by a team of legal researchers.

The prize ceremony will take place at The Lalit Hotel in New Delhi on December 18.
