Lakshya, in his mid-thirties was a practising lawyer, and had reportedly gone to attend a wedding in Bhiwani in Haryana on January 22 with one  Vikas Bhardwaj (a clerk in Tis Hazari Court) and one Abhishek.

However, he had gone missing thereafter.

On January 26, Abhishek, 19, was arrested by the police from Jawahar Camp in Narela in Delhi, after which he informed that Vikas had called him on January 22 and asked him to along for a wedding function in Sonipat.

According to Abhishek, Vikas told him that Lakshya had taken a loan from him and misbehaved with him on being asked to return the sum.
