IAS Officer Who Vacated Delhis Thyagraj Stadium Transferred

Sanjeev Khirwar, a Delhi bureaucrat who allegedly vacated a stadium so that he could walk his dog, has been transferred to Ladakh because of the outrage over his actions. Rinku Dugga, his spouse and also a bureaucrat, has been transferred to Arunachal Pradesh as well.

In response to media reports that an IAS officer had vacated Delhi's Thyagraj stadium to take his dog for a walk, the Ministry of Home Affairs (hereinafter, MHA) issued an order.

The MHA sought a report from Delhi's Chief Secretary on a news report on Sanjeev Khirwar and his wife, Rinku Dugga's misuse of facilities at Thyagraj Stadium. Later in the evening, the Chief Secretary handed in a report on the factual position of MHA.

Sources told that,

"In the meanwhile, Sanjeev Khirwar has been transferred by MHA to Ladakh and Rinku Dhugga to Arunachal Pradesh. Necessary action will be initiated based on the report."

Ahead of schedule, athletes and coaches training at the stadium were given the instruction to wrap up their workouts by 7 p.m.

Ajit Chaudhary, the stadium administrator, denied the allegations made by the athletes. He said that the official time for athletes to train is till 7 p.m., and after that, the coaches and athletes leave.

After a large internet uproar over the IAS officer's activities, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal ordered all stadiums in the national capital to remain open till 10 p.m. for players and their trainers.
