MANGALORE: The Karnataka branch of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has questioned the law and order situation in Siddaramaiah ruled-Karnataka after 2 of its workers were stabbed and assaulted by an alleged mob of Muslims near a masjid in Mangalore's Boliyaru village, for celebrating Narendra Modi's return in the 3rd term as PM while raising 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' slogans.

The victims were admitted in the KS Hegde Hospital in the Deralkatte region of the state. The condition of one of the workers is said to be critical.

In a video which is going viral, two BJP workers on a bike were seen being hunted down and brutally stabbed by a mob of 20-30 unidentified locals.

The workers identified as Harish Anchan, 41, and Nandakumar, 24 were brutally assaulted and stabbed, leaving 1 critical, by unidentified locals who were reportedly disturbed by the ongoing celebrations of the BJP on the evening of PM Modi's oath-taking ceremony.

As per OpIndia, the BJP workers in the Mudipu village and the nearby Boliyaru village were celebrating the victory of the BJP-led NDA in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.

As a part of such celebrations, they rallied around the streets and also raised slogans including the slogan "Bharat Mata ki Jai". However, as the workers passed from near a local Masjid in Boliyar, a mob of Muslims began to chase and eventually hunted down the BJP workers by blocking their path near the Samadhan Resto-Bar, according to reports.

Arguments ensued thereafter between the Muslims and the BJP workers for raising Bharat Mata ki Jai and BJP-favouring slogans,  after which the accused persons began assaulting the workers.

Eventually, the accused persons stabbed two of the BJP workers identified as Harish and Nandakumar. Another worker identified as Krishna Kumar was also reportedly brutally assaulted by the mob.

OpIndia reported that the workers' saffron scarfs and clothes were also pulled off by the accused persons.
